Chicken
Ginger and garlic, blended
Tomatoes
Pepper
Turkey berries
Onion
Kpakposhito
Gino Peppe & Onion seasoning
Gino Tomato mix

Cooking Instructions

Prepare groundnut paste base

Combine groundnut paste and Gino Tomato Paste in a bowl. Set aside.

Prepare chicken

Wash and cut chicken into your preferred sizes
Season chicken pieces with blended ginger and garlic, salt and Gino Peppe & Onion.
Steam the seasoned chicken pieces for 10 minutes.

Cook groundnut paste base

Cook the groundnut paste base for 20 minutes or until you see the oil rising to the top.

Prepare Soup

Add cooked groundnut paste base to the chicken and stock, and add a cup of water. Bring to a boil.
Add in whole tomatoes, peppers, turkey berries, and onions. Cook for 10 minutes, then remove the vegetables from the soup.
Blend the vegetables and pour the mixture back into the soup.

Season

Add some salt and kpakposhito to the soup.
Cook for another 20 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.

Prepare rice balls

Boil rice until tender (ratio: 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water).
Knead rice with a flat wooden spatula until it is cooked.
Mould into balls of your preferred size. Set aside.

Serve and enjoy:

Serve your omotuo with a good helping of the groundnut soup and enjoy with a cold glass of water.
